SPCA New Zealand simply could not function without the help of the fantastic volunteers who donate their time. If you're ready to put your hand up to help, we've got the volunteer options to suit you.
How can you help?
Volunteering with us can be a big commitment but one you will find extremely rewarding. You can choose to help at an SPCA centre, at one of our Op shops or at our National Support Office.
1. Volunteer for your local SPCA centre
Centre volunteers can help out in all areas including working in the hospital, helping with cats, dogs and small animals, and working on the farm. In addition, our centres periodically have Administration, Event and Intern roles which we also need assistance with. Find your local SPCA centre and get involved now!
2. Volunteer at an SPCA Op Shop
Our SPCA Op Shops raise vital funds for their local SPCA centres. But they rely heavily on volunteers – to help receive, clean and merchandise donated goods, and to provide customer service. If you can help, find your nearest Op Shop and get in touch.
3. Volunteer at our National Support Office
Our National Support Office provides assistance to our SPCA centres throughout New Zealand and coordinates national campaigns and fundraising events. Volunteer duties may include basic administrative tasks, data entry, project work, event coordination and other tasks as they arise. If you would like to get involved, please fill in the Volunteer Work Application Form and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
