Every year, the SPCA releases its List of Shame. This list highlights only a few of the worst and most despicable cases of animal cruelty and neglect to have happened in New Zealand over the past 12 months.

It is with sadness that we sit down each year to compile these lists from the thousands of animal abuse cases that we deal with, but it is a task that must be done if we are to give a voice to those who have none.

The lists do not make easy reading. But if you can bring yourself to do so, they might remind you why it is that we need to hold our Paws Appeal every year.
