You've Made All The Difference For The Animals |
|
Many pets and people met their perfect match last Valentine’s weekend at their local SPCA. The first ever national adopt-a-thon, Second Chance for Love, was a resounding success with almost 500 animals adopted during the 36 hour period.
Tell us your adoption story at www.secondchanceforlove.co.nz. When you share your pet adoption story - with photo of course! - you go in the draw to win prizes from Hill's Pet Nutrition, who are also donating $1,000 to the local SPCA with the most votes.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition are the exclusive sponsor of the SPCA centre feeding programme. Their support is an essential part of enabling SPCAs throughout New Zealand to save animals' lives.

More than 9000 animals desexed in the SPCA mobile clinic |
|
Now well into the third year of operation, the SPCA mobile clinic has
achieved more than 9000 free desexing operations for animals of low
income owners.
Roving vet Alistar, and vet nurse wife Sue, have travelled the country from top to bottom. Currently they in the South Island for their second visit.
Good news is that the effects of this activity and other de
sexing initiatives around the country have resulted in the first ever
reduction in the annual numbers of stray and unwanted animals sheltered
by the SPCA.

Choose New Zealand Cruelty Free Skincare |

Many of the most famous cosmetics brands use extensive animal
testing on
their products. Their 'hope in a jar' includes preservatives,
colourings
and fragrances that may still cause allergic reactions despite animals
suffering to ensure that they are fit for humans to apply to their
skin.
Mice die when each batch of botox is produced, rabbits suffer to ensure
that face cream doesn't sting your eyes.
